Ep. 36 Industrial Machinery Safety Stop Innovation! MAKESafe Tools
Greetings everyone, this is Dave with Mighty Line Minute. I've got a great podcast today that's going to be about MAKE Safe Tools from San Diego, California. And we have with us Alexandra who's going to talk about the systems, what they do, and why you need to consider them.
Hello, Alexandra, how are you today?
Hi, I'm doing good. It's a busy day at the ASSP Expo. Yeah.
What is MakeSafeTools, and, where are they out of, and how did they get started?
So, MakeSafe Tools, we're a small business, founded in San Diego, California. And, we got started when our boss, has been a teacher for a long time, noticed that in school shops there were a lot of safety features that were missing. So, we wanted an easy-to-install and non-intrusive way to add a bunch of safety features to industrial machinery and the like. So, eventually he came up with a thing called the power tool brake. So, what it does is use DC injection to essentially break an AC induction motor whenever a stop button is pressed. So, it's a motor control that when a stop button is pressed, the motor stops. So instead of having a continuously running tool inside of a machine shop, you have a tool that when stopped, actually stops.
You know, I love your product. When I came to the ASSP, Professional Development Conference here in Denver, I saw your booth and I noticed that you had solutions to products involving industrial machinery that I used to have to deal with from an investigation standpoint. When I worked with the State of Ohio we had many accidents involving machinery. And these systems could sure help save people's hands, fingers, and in some cases, even their lives.
I certainly do hope so, definitely.
I'm so impressed. So how do we learn more about your company and where do we, go to learn about it?
So, if you'd like to learn more about us, you can look us up online at MAKESafeTools.com that is MAKE Safe Tools dot com. And yes, we've got our website. We've got a a lot of good information there about problems that our products help solve, and about how to get our products ordered.
Wonderful. We're going to do that, and I want to thank you for taking the time with us on Mighty Line Minute today, and, have a good show, and keep doing what you're doing, because I love seeing products like this.
Thank you so much, Dave.
Take care.
