Enhancing Warehouse Safety with Domes and Mirrors
Greetings everyone, and welcome to another Mighty Line Minute. We're here at the ASSP Professional Development Conference in Denver, Colorado. And I've had the fortune of coming across Domes and Mirrors.com where we're going to learn a little more about a product that's in use .. everywhere!
Se-Kure Domes and Mirrors has been in business over half a century. Their operation for domes and mirrors is in Sturgis, Michigan, where they manufacture the world's best-made mirrors and domes for use in industrial occupancies.
They are also known for their security mirrors. Their "DomeVex" mirrors provide a 180 degree view, while their 150 degree view is found in what they refer to as simply their Convex mirror.
These time-tested products have been used in nearly every type of industrial occupancy, particularly where there are warehouse operations involving powered industrial trucks.
They are commonly used at intersections, whether they be forklift intersections or intersections with people. And of course, their purpose is to avoid injury, which most often can be very serious in these types of accidents.
Their vision-confirmation systems are commonly viewed as the more standard approach to dealing with intersected traffic, particularly where there's consideration for electronic alternatives. These .. stand the test of time.
Their domes and mirrors allow operators of vehicles or pedestrians to see ahead of them, or around them, with unique points of view. I've also found them used in commercial occupancies. And even in residential where there's a driveway approaching a street where traffic comes by at rapid speed. Even my local coffee shop has got them in use.
Oftentimes, domes in mirrors are combined with Mighty Line safety systems, which includes floor tape, floor striping, angles, numbers, lettering, and even signs which help pedestrians and/or vehicle operators know how to deal with a particular hazard.
Both of these systems are extremely useful in a 5S environment in industrial occupancies. Today's opportunities for safety demarcation go well beyond the numerous stripes, colors and opportunities one has with striping in a warehouse. For example, clear windows are often used with scan codes, bar codes, and other ideas that require unique labeling on a floor system.
So, if you'd like to improve safety in your warehouse or industrial operation, be sure to take a look at DomesandMirrors.com to improve safety and visibility. Also, take a look at MightyLineTape.com. You can improve safety in many different ways by improving your striping, means of egress and employee knowledge, while also providing operational benefits by using signs, symbols and clear windows.
Take care, have a safe day, and we'll see you again on Mighty Line Minute!
