Jewels of the North - Cleveland, Ohio's Lakefront Parks!
Greetings everyone, and welcome to another edition of Mighty Line Minute!
Today, we'll be talking about two of Northeast Ohio's favorite locations, the Cleveland MetroParks Lakefront Reservation.
Edgewater Park, as part of the Lakefront Reservation, is in the heart of the city, along the shores of Lake Erie.
The entire Metroparks system spans more than 23 acres and offers some of the best green spaces throughout the entire region.
Edgewater Park's six and one-half acres offer incredible lakefront views, wide open spaces and a wide range of recreational activities that attract thousands.
Whether you're standing on the Edgewater Pier or along the shoreline, you'll feel like you're on the edge of the world!
Cleveland's downtown is visible in the distance, providing a striking contrast to the peaceful expanse of water. Edgewater Park, as well as its western neighbor,
Huntington Beach in Bay Village, are also known for their jaw-dropping sunsets.
Edgewater's immense beach is an urban oasis, right in the middle of the city. In addition to swimming and sunbathing, it's a great place for picnics, kite flying and beach volleyball.
The Park's one and a half-mile trail runs along the water, offering breathtaking views at every turn. You can also rent kayaks and paddle boards nearby.
Seasonal concerts and festivals also play out at Edgewater Park, along with many private parties in nearby Wendy Park and the area's marinas.
A recently constructed fishing pier is ideal for catching perch, walleye, or smallmouth bass. And you can launch boats nearby.
Edgewater Park has evolved over the years, to become a cornerstone of the Cleveland MetroParks system.
To the west lies Huntington Reservation, Edgewater's western MetroParks neighbor. It is a historically well-known swimming and fishing area, and it has been for many years.
The land around Huntington Beach and the Huntington Reservation was originally inhabited by Native American tribes. The area was rich in natural resources.
Following the arrival of European settlers in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, Amos Huntington, a successful merchant and landowner, invested heavily in the area's land. Particularly along the Lake Erie shoreline.
In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the Huntington family began to donate portions of their land to the public.
And in 1925, the Bay Village property was purchased by the Cleveland MetroParks for one-half million dollars. Today, Huntington Reservation and Beach remain a recreational favorite among local residents and beyond.
The area offers a natural, scenic environment, that serves as a historic natural preserve along the Lake Erie shoreline.
So, what can we learn about walking and working surfaces in today's industrial and commercial environments? The key thing is assuring safety and organization, as part of the workplace operational excellence and 5S initiative programs.
An orderly work environment - is a safe work environment.
And that includes: floor aisle marking for storage, inventory, equipment, and especially to assure safe means of personnel travel and egress.
Mighty Line floor tape excels in that area. So, be sure to take advantage of their floor marking solutions for warehousing, manufacturing, commercial, and public operations. Their product line also includes many types of floor signs, shapes, letters, numbers, and symbols. And if you have a need for clear, adhesive-backed windows for instructions, labeling, bar or scan codes, be sure to give them a shout.
Thanks again for taking time with us today on Mighty Line Minute. I'll look forward to talking with you again in our next edition. And in the meantime, be good, and stay safe!
