Testing of 2' Yellow and 3" Blue 50-mil floor tapes with rubber adhesive backing involved airborne particle-count analysis. The result was zero measurable particles at or above 0.5 microns. Testing also included a 30-day in-service evaluation that revealed no observable product degradation. Greetings, everyone, and welcome to another edition of Mighty Line Minute!

Today, we're pleased to announce an important achievement for ShieldMark Incorporated and its Mighty Line® industrial floor-marking products. Mighty Line 50-mil, 2-inch and 3-inch floor tape recently underwent independent testing, with results demonstrating its suitability for use in ISO Class 7 and ISO Class 8 cleanroom environments.

For architects, engineers, facility managers and warehouse operators specifying materials for controlled environments, this is an important consideration. Cleanrooms require careful attention to the materials and products installed within them, particularly when airborne particulate contamination is a concern.

The testing involved a comprehensive review of materials, product assembly, at-rest airborne particle testing, and an evaluation of suitability for cleanroom environments.

More specifically, Mighty Line’s 50-mil 2” Yellow and 3” Blue floor tape featuring rubber adhesive backing, underwent at-rest particle testing involving laser particle count determination of airborne particulates.

Prior to testing, the tape was wiped down with IPA, and allowed to rest for 12 hours inside a Class 1,000 cleanroom environment. At-rest particle testing recorded zero measurable airborne particles at or above 0.5 microns, an encouraging result when evaluating Mighty Line® floor tape for use in controlled cleanroom environments.

But the evaluation didn't stop there. Mighty Line tape samples were also installed on the floor in a high-traffic area of a cleanroom and monitored over a 30-day period. Following that evaluation, the samples showed no observable product degradation.

The independent testing and analysis established the suitability of the tested products for ISO Class 7 and ISO Class 8 cleanroom applications.
